Farewell

To life and all its glory
I have never harvested but shame
I welcomed self-inflicted damage
I single handedly crafted my pain
I willingly bathed in sorrow
I proudly dressed with blame

To life and all its wonders
I confined myself to causes with no windows
I got drained on people with no souls
I crossed all the wrongs avoided all the rights
I watched time pass by with no regret in my eye
I stared at happiness not understanding its place

To life and all its breathers
I have shown no mercy
I betrayed in vain
I belittled for days
I preyed on weakness
I feasted on pain

To life and all I'm in
I lost all my wars
I missed love
I surrendered to loneliness
I created a monster
I bestow my last breath

Behind Closed Doors The taste
of cigarette
still lingered
in my throat.

Like poison
it choked
my neck
and suffocated
my lungs.

Stick after stick
I drown myself
in the smoke
of my inevitable
loneliness.
The more
that I inhale it
the harder
it is to exhale.

And as cigarette ashes
of a yesterday
filled with remorse
hid the stains
of my blood
that tainted
my bathroom floor,
the inescapable
tragedy
of the modern day
Romeo and Juliet
soaked me in tears.

We were
trapped
in the immoral claws
of morality.
We were forcibly separated.
Our love
was a taboo.

we are starting the first poetry standup event in Lebanon (which is very close to Def Jam Poetry) and was wondering if you would do us the honor of being a member of the event. It is not a competition, just the chance for the poet you are to be appraised.
